    Angry

I was talking to a friend earlier today, and he suggested that I consider that my flywheel may be imbalanced or the flywheel cover may be loose (If it is this, do I have to remove the tranny to tighten it?!).

I am STILL trying to figure out why my car sounds the way it does.

For those who don't know, here are the symptoms again:
    - "WOBBLING" sound occurs in the higher rpm range (above ~4500-5000 rpm). This is the KEY sound/symptom.
    - Only happens part throttle. Never happens full throttle (or 75% throttle).
    - Is NOT speed dependent or gear dependent, ONLY RPM dependent.

I have not discounted a broken muffler or something vibrating in the exhaust system. But I have to say, it does not sound like metal on metal.

Anyone with ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you changed anything recently on the car??...when did this "wobbling" problem start??...do you feel something in the steering wheel??....or is it just a sound?

No, it's been happening for a while. There is no vibration in the steering wheel. It's pretty much "just a noise" coming seemingly from underneath the car (exhaust?). But I wouldn't describe it as a VIBRATION. It's definately much more like a WOBBLING sound ("wa-wa-wa-wa-wa...").

Unfortunately, I can't trace it back to any one thing that I did.

^He?s saying it?s not speed or gear dependent but RPM dependent. So I highly doubt it would be the tires.

Couldn't be the tires. I just changed my tires to Yokohama Parada Spec-2's like a couple months ago. I had the problem before that.

I take back what I said about the 3/4 throttle. It does make the sound at higher throttle pressures, but I just couldn't tell before because I couldn't hear the sound over the exhaust note. It seems intermixed with the exhaust note though.

Also, at a dead stop, revving the car into higher rpm ranges, then holding the throttle there. . .the noise is still there. So the car doesn't have to be moving for the noise to appear.

I doubt that this will clear anything up, but hopefully it will help.
